# Finance work, as installable skills.

Free, read-only Claude Code skills for US finance teams on QuickBooks Online and Stripe.

Each skill does one finance task the same way every month. Scripts pull the data and do the math, every number traces back to its rows, and nothing is posted to your books.

Claude Code · Python 3.10+ · [Source on GitHub](https://github.com/nocodetalks/finance-skills)

A skill is a written procedure Claude follows **the same way every time**, on files that stay on your computer.

### Right before explained

Tie-outs come first and commentary comes last. If the numbers don’t add up, nothing gets explained.

### Every number traces back

Scripts do the math and each figure links to the rows it came from. Claude only writes words, and a verifier rejects any number the scripts didn’t compute.

### Missing input means stop

Missing, wrong dates, wrong shape, doesn’t add up, or empty: the run stops and says exactly what to fetch. No guesses, no placeholder data.

## Every skill.

Live ones install today. The next ones are in the repo’s roadmap; watch it on GitHub to hear when they ship.

| What | How the skills handle it |
| -------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **QuickBooks** | Read-only: the code only sends GET requests, plus the sign-in token exchange. You connect your own Intuit app; there is no hosted service in between. |
| **Stripe** | Only restricted rk\_ keys, scoped to Read. Test-mode keys are refused by default. |
| **Your data** | Pulled by scripts straight to files on your machine, not pasted through the chat. Keep the work folder out of git. |
| **Your keys** | In a .env file that only the scripts read. Never typed into the chat. |
| **People** | Payroll comes in as totals per pay run and is shown as one total, never by person. Bank account numbers are never written. |
| **Your books** | Nothing is ever posted. Fixes come out as draft entries for a person to approve. |
